Eventful visit

Our friends from New Hampshire came to visit. We went to Chicago to show them the sites, including the Sear's Tower and the new Ledge, which is a glass room on the outside of the building! It was crazy scary! I couldn't let go becuase I was so scared, but as you can see Elizabeth had no problems.

We also saw some of the other sites including Millenium Park.
And we took in another Cubs game:

Then unfortunately, Elizabeth came down with an infection that landed her in the hospital. Thankfully, she was only there for about 2 days for IV antibiotics and then was discharged home to her normal self. It was a little scary there for a while, but like I said she's back to normal now and loving life!

Here are some pics of Elizabeth enjoying the outdoors:

Happy Anniversary!

Allen & I celebrated our 8th anniversary on July 14. I first enjoyed the day by taking Elizabeth to her 9 month check up. She weighed in at 15 lbs. 6 oz and was 26 3/4 inches in length. She's still a wee little one, being in the 15th percentile for eight and <5th>

We then went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Wayne. Very enjoyable and delicious. I can't believe it's been 8 years already. Here's for many more years to come.

Go Cubs Go!

Elizabeth made it to her first professional baseball game outside of the womb. Unfortunately, the Cubs lost, but she'll have to get used to that if she's a Cubs fan. Of course, it was the one game they lost in the last 5, but that's just our luck. We still had fun at Wrigley and even got a chance to go to the Taste of Chicago for a little bit.

Elizabeth also took her first train ride in Chicago and she loved to look out the window at the passing buildings.

Jeff wanted to play "Where's Jeff?" in this picture

Since it was the 4th of July, we decided we should be American and get some Apple pies at McDonald's while we waited for the train line to die down. Nick tried on Elizabeth's Cubs hat, but it didn't seem to fit quite as well.

Hanging with Elizabeth

Elizabeth has been enjoying the beautiful summer weather. But when she's not outside we've been hanging out playing with toys. She gives daddy that "Can I get this look" in the store and next thing we know we've bought it :)

We've finally started unpacking some boxes that we've had for 1-1/2 years and Elizabeth enjoyed the packing peanuts. Allen learned quickly it's better to have that pacifer in her mouth so the peanuts don't get in there.

Elizabeth met some of daddy's toys . . . I'm sorry collectibles. She wasn't scared of the dalek. She could take him :)
